Dominick Gadaleta, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Gadaleta has been a general surgeon for 15 years and has specialized in Bariatric, (weight loss ), surgery for the past 10 years. He performs the latest techniques in weight loss surgery including laparoscopic gastric bypass and laparoscopic gastric banding. He also does laparoscopic hernia repair. He was recently named the co-director of The Bariatric Program at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, which has recently been given the distinction of a ³Center of Excellence². His knowledge and experience as one of the pioneers of weight loss surgery make patients confident when choosing him as their surgeon.

Education

Dr. Dominick Gadaleta graduated with his medical degree in 1986 from George Washington University Medical School, Washington, D.C. He then completed his internship at North Shore University Hospital, Manhasset, N.Y. Continuing his education, Dr. Gadaleta completed his residency in surgery at North Shore University Hospital and became Chief resident.

Dr. Gadaleta then went on to complete a fellowship in Surgical Infection at Cornell University Medical College. His current interests include Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery and Surgery for the treatment of obesity. He was also an investigator for the FDA approval of the Lap Band.
